SUMMARY:Tribal Drinking Water Data Investigation + Insights
DESCRIPTION:Nearly 50 percent of Tribal homes on Tribal lands lack access to reliable water sources\, compared to 1 percent of U.S. homes overall. Tribal Nations operate in a complex\, oft misunderstood and sometimes ignored jurisdictional landscape through which drinking water is funded\, provided\, and regulated. Federal data collection\, data publication\, and subsequent research frequently fails to capture the political realities in which Tribal Nations operate. As a result\, statistics\, recommendations\, and policy papers fail to capture the unique challenges that Tribes face in accessing drinking water\, and the unique levers that Tribes have to address these challenges. \nJust as the federal government has a trust responsibility to provide sanitation and drinking water to Tribes\, the federal government has a trust responsibility to provide Tribes with relevant data and analysis tools that are useful\, accurate\, and consistent with Tribal data sovereignty. \nWith this in mind\, we asked: what Tribal drinking water data is publicly available\, how is it collected\, how is it published\, and what are the implications for Tribal data? Join us to learn more about our investigation\, analysis and insights.

SUMMARY:Exploring Disadvantaged Community (DAC) Definitions in the Great Lakes States
DESCRIPTION:Join us at our upcoming webinar for a preview of a powerful new DAC Mapping Tool that explores how states define “Disadvantaged Communities” (DACs) for the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) across seven Great Lakes states (Illinois\, Indiana\, Michigan\, Minnesota\, New York\, Ohio\, and Wisconsin). \nDeveloped to support advocates\, state administrators\, and water infrastructure partners\, this tool provides interactive views of the geographic areas captured by DAC definitions in each of these seven states – plus insights into their structure\, data sources\, related state SRF policies\, and implications for how funds for critical drinking water infrastructure are distributed. \n💡 Agenda\n\n\n15 min – Introduction & Context \n\n\n20 min – Tool Walkthrough \n\n\n30 min – Panel & Reflections \n\n\n15 min – Q&A \n\n\n10 min – Closing & Next Steps \n\n\n🎤 Presenters\n\n\nNina Idemudia\, AICP\, Center for Neighborhood Technology (CNT) (Moderator) \n\n\nJanet Pritchard\, Environmental Policy Innovation Center (EPIC) \n\n\nPaul Esling\, Center for Neighborhood Technology (CNT)

SUMMARY:Lead Service Line Cost Efficiencies Webinar
DESCRIPTION:This is a national webinar focusing on cost efficiency opportunities for lead service line replacement (LSLR) activities. While everyone is welcome and encouraged to join\, utility staff will particularly benefit from attending. You will hear directly from water utility panelists about their ongoing lead service line replacement programs.

SUMMARY:Creating & Maintaining Drinking Water Data Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Join EPIC\, the Center for Geospatial Solutions (CGS)\, and the Internet of Water (IoW) on May 21st for a webinar highlighting ways to easily maintain and update drinking water data. We’ll dive into details on a key drinking water dataset—who gets water from whom?—and learn about tools to easily collate\, create and update this information. We’ll feature innovative solutions like IoW/CGS’s BoundarySync tool\, which is designed to lower the digital divide for water utilities and streamline the data curation process. We’ll also open the discussion to learn from others about how this data complements lead service line inventories. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to deepen your understanding of critical drinking water datasets and the transformative possibilities they present.
