SUMMARY:Cleaning Our Waterways: Green Infrastructure Solutions for 6PPDQ
DESCRIPTION:Every time it rains\, water washing off roads and highways carries pollutants into nearby streams\, rivers\, and estuaries. One of the most concerning pollutants is 6PPD-quinone (6PPDQ)\, a chemical byproduct of a common tire rubber additive that is among the most toxic substances known to aquatic life. This webinar introduces 6PPDQ to planners and technical staff who may be encountering it for the first time and shows what communities can do about it. Speakers from The Nature Conservancy\, Washington State DOT\, Herrera Inc\, and Stewardship Partners will share lessons learned from using green stormwater infrastructure as a solution and discuss how municipalities\, transportation agencies\, and nonprofits can work together to deploy solutions\, engage their communities\, and access funding. \nLearning Objectives: \nBy the end of this webinar\, participants will: \n· Understand what 6PPDQ is\, where it comes from\, and why it poses an urgent water quality and ecological concern for communities across the U.S. \n· Learn about green stormwater infrastructure as a practical\, proven approach to intercepting contaminants before they reach waterways. \n· Understand how the Box-of-Rain model works\, what it has achieved in field testing\, and how it could be adapted beyond its Pacific Northwest origins. \n· Understand what multi-sector partnerships look like in practice and how transportation agencies\, municipalities\, nonprofits\, and community volunteers can work together to scale GSI solutions. \n· Leave with actionable next steps for exploring GSI solutions in their own community context. \nPresenters: · Kate Sievers – Nature Based Solutions Program Manager – The Nature Conservancy · Tony Bush – Stormwater Branch Manager – Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) · Dylan Ahearn – Principal Scientist – Herrera Inc · Soumi Gaddameedi – Grants & Development Manager – Stewardship Partners

SUMMARY:Minnesota Water Resources Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Minnesota Water Resources Conference is the premier event for Minnesota water resources professionals and one of the largest such gatherings in the nation. The conference brings together researchers\, practitioners\, and water resource professionals from across the state to share cutting-edge science\, engineering solutions\, management insights\, and practical approaches to manage water resources. \nThe Minnesota Water Resources Conference is an opportunity to build connections across sectors\, with attendance from agency\, academic\, non-governmental\, and private sector leaders. Attendees benefit from sharing: \n\n\nLessons learned from the implementation of engineering projects\n\n\nBest practices discovered in the design and application of water resource management techniques\n\n\nInnovations in modeling and technology transfer\n\n\nImplications of water policy decisions\n\n\nSocial and natural science research on current and emerging issues

SUMMARY:ReFRESH Summit
DESCRIPTION:ReFRESH is not a typical water conference. \nIt is a curated innovation forum for leaders who are ready to refresh how progress happens in water. \nThe challenges are not new – aging infrastructure\, funding gaps\, workforce shortages\, pollution\, climate pressure. But they do require new ways of thinking\, breaking down silos to solve long-standing problems. \nReFRESH brings together decision-makers across the public\, private and academic sectors to explore radical collaboration\, honest conversations and a commitment to action.

SUMMARY:Chesapeake Watershed Forum
DESCRIPTION:The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay’s 21st Annual Chesapeake Watershed Forum\, which will be held at the National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown\, WV\, is a watershed-wide event reaching over 400 restoration and protection practitioners to inspire and empower local action towards clean water. We share successful tools and techniques\, offer lessons and learnings from on-the-ground work\, build capacities of local organizations\, foster partnerships\, educate on new initiatives and emerging practices\, network with others\, and celebrate our successes. We look forward to seeing you in November! \nOur 2026 theme is “Practical Solutions for People and Planet.” As we enter a new era for the Chesapeake\, the focus has shifted from what we must do to how we will get it done. The 2026 Chesapeake Watershed Forum theme centers on the tangible: the tools\, techniques\, and collaborative models where research meets results. \nThis year\, we invite technical and topical experts across disciplines to share their research or hard-earned knowledge with the Forum community. Every session is designed to apply practical solutions to ongoing challenges—whether through deepening scientific understanding\, mastering a new restoration methodology\, or scaling a real-world solution. By bridging the gap between innovative research and on-the-ground action\, we are building the foundation for watershed success. Join us to find the practical building blocks for people and the planet.
